For many young people approaching adulthood, one question remains: What comes next? This summer, Sharjah Capability Development met future members across the Emirate to answer that question.
As part of its commitment to supporting the continuous development of youth, Sharjah Capability Development has concluded a series of engagement visits to Sharjah Youth and Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah Centres. The visits introduced members approaching the age of 18 to the programs and development opportunities offered by the organisation.
The visits took place at Sharjah Youth centres located in Al Dhaid, Khor Fakkan and Wasit, as well as Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah centres in Khor Fakkan, Kalba and Al Qarayen. During the visits, Sharjah Capability Development introduced the organisation’s vision, mission and key programs. These programs cover areas including leadership, coaching, future skills, literature, arts and community engagement and are designed to help young people develop their potential.
Participants also learned about the registration process, available opportunities and ways to become involved. The interactive discussions gave them the chance to ask questions and gain a clearer understanding of the next stage of their development journey. A key feature of this year’s initiative was the participation of a Sharjah Capability Development member in each session, where they have shared their personal experiences with the organisation’s programs and explained how these opportunities had strengthened their skills, confidence and personal growth.
Commenting on the importance of maintaining a clear development pathway for younger generations, Khalid Al Nakhi, Director of Sharjah Capability Development, said: “We are committed to ensuring that the development journey of the youth continues beyond the age of 18. This initiative gave Sharjah Youth and Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah members a clearer understanding of the programs and opportunities available to support their future goals.”
Highlighting the value of sharing real experiences, he added: “The participation of our members was an important part of this year’s initiative. We believe that real experiences are among the most effective ways to connect with youth. The strong response to the stories shared during the visits reflects the value of peer-to-peer learning and the importance of encouraging young people to pass on their knowledge and experiences.”
These engagement visits form part of Sharjah Capability Development’s efforts to strengthen its connection with Sharjah Youth and Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah. They also reflect the cooperation between Rubu’ Qarn’s entities in supporting youth and preparing skilled, confident and socially responsible generations.
