13th July , 2023

In an endeavour to develop the skills of the members of Rubu’ Qarn organizations, as well as spur their creativity and innovation in the world of theater and performing arts, Rubu’ Qarn Foundation for Creating Future Leaders and Innovators is launching the Rubu’ Qarn for Theater and Performing Arts Bootcamp titled “Imagination and Creativity”, and under the theme “We imagine and create a future theater” from 13 July to 17 August 2023. The Bootcamp serves as an inclusive creative space for members of Rubu’ Qarn organizations who have completed training levels in the theater and performing arts programs, to showcase their superb theater talents and deepen their knowledge with the aim of developing their sensory, cognitive, physical and leadership personality, in the presence of well-versed and highly qualified experts and trainers to help them present art shows in a universal visual language, as they convey their message to the world.

Nevertheless, the “Imagination and Creativity” bootcamp comes as part of Rubu’ Qarn for Theater and Performing Arts project 2023, which targets members of Sharjah Children, Sharjah Youth, Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah, and Sharjah Capability Development, within the age group from 6 to 31 years old who have completed levels of both the Performing Arts Program and Puppetry Arts Program. Meanwhile, the camp’s activities are divided into two stages titled “Art of Mime and Creativity” and “Puppetry Arts and Imagination”, in which 4 – 8 theater shows are expected to be performed by the camp’s participants after undergoing 10 hours of daily training that qualifies them to perform to the audience.

It is noteworthy that the first level of Rubu’ Qarn for Theater and Performing Arts “Imagination and Creativity” bootcamp includes workshops on (Art of Mime and Creativity) within the Performing Arts Program that seek to introduce participants to diverse exercises, enabling them to develop and explore their creative and expressive skills, and the basics of mime art from silent performance-art to motion in speech that can reach any audience. However, the second level of the camp offers workshops (Puppetry Arts and Imagination) within the Puppetry Arts Program, which provides participants with the opportunity to learn the basics of this art, and how to make and move puppetry models, paving their way to creative imagination and artistic expression through writing their stories to deliver multi-technical puppetry shows, such as cartoon puppets, string puppets, and glove puppets, according to the best creative practices and standards of this type of art.

Workshops and programs offered by Rubu’ Qarn for Theater and Performing Arts will continue to open doors to the public and creative youth of Sharjah. This is so that they will showcase their abilities and creativity. Those interested can learn about the upcoming workshops and register now to join this project, which aims to make a visible breakthrough in theater, specifically in the Emirate of Sharjah and the United Arab Emirates as a whole.
