Sharjah Leadership Program (SLP) is among the most successful leadership programs across the United Arab Emirates with a history and experience of more than 10 years. SLP is proud to have produced forward-thinking leaders in both the private and public sectors.

The American University of Sharjah is the academic partner in this endeavor, offering AUS Certification for the participants. In recent years, AUS has cooperated with other renowned academic institutions to supplement the program’s outcomes. In addition, the strong slphip that SLP has with various private and public companies across the UAE makes this experience this program offers its participants entirely unique.

Program Objectives

Develop effective leaders and equip them with the skills required to succeed and impact in the 21st Century by creating:

The program will develop in each participant the ability to become an effective leader of change, drawing on instruction in appropriate management principles and using a variety of experiential learning techniques to translate theory to action to meet the challenges in both public and private organizations.

The program will develop leaders who are well informed and focused on the development of the Emirate of Sharjah.

Leading Organizational Innovation by applying problem-solving and creative thinking

Entrepreneurs .

Leading Strong and Feasible projects to advance the economy

Social Entrepreneurs .

Leading impact-based projects to create positive change in the community.

2005 2005

The program started out as the Tatweer Leadership Program and produced 260 graduates, of whom a substantial number oversee today’s various human capital development initiatives in Sharjah.

2013 2013

The graduation ceremony of the first SLP took place on April 16, 2014 in the presence of His Highness the Crown Prince of Sharjah to honor the first graduating class. The occasion also saw the launch of the Sharjah Leadership Alumni Association (SLAA).

2014 2014

The 2nd SLP was conducted in cooperation with the Paris Sorbonne University – Abu Dhabi

2015 2015

The 3rd SLP included a 10-day visit to Silicon Valley, USA and a session on innovation at Stanford Research Institute.

2016 2016

The fourth year of SLP included an 11-day trip to the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom.

2018 2018

In 2018, the Sharjah Leadership Program included a visit to one of the top business schools in the world, “INSEAD Business School” in Singapore. The program focused on the individual progress of each participant, emphasizing on transferring the 21st Century Skills.

2019 2019

In 2019, the program’s concept was driven by culture. It was centered around the idea of creating the conditions and environment for imagination, which is the core of innovation. Taking the city of Milan as a case study, the program was held in SDA Bocconi and consisted of visits and insights from top Italian companies to understand how the city creates the conditions that shape its brand as a cultural capital for art, creativity and excellence.
